New Challenges Answered...

I've got the day off...that's a dangerous thing 'cuz i have a bad habit of sitting and feeding my need for creativity...
And Netta, at Creative Victorian, has posted the next round of challenges...
so here's a few things's I've been doing....

A Tribue to
Josephine and Charles

My Grandparents

For as long as I can remember my family made the trip to Queens, New York, and spent a week or two visiting with Grandma Josie and Grandpa Charlie. And for as long as I can remember, as Grandpa read his paper and commented on events of the day, he and my mom would ... discuss ... the stories of the day - usually very energetically.

And they never did seem to agree on much of anything!

This was done to answer the Heritage Challenge at Creative Victorian Designs Forum.

Once Upon a Time...

A couple of years ago Mom and I were talking and decided that it would be a great for her and dad to spend their 50th Anniversary on a cruise ship with their family. One year and 5 million emails and phone calls later, 15 of us boarded the Carnival Cruise ship Glory. Mom, Dad, my sister and brother, their significant others and children, and my husband and I and our children all managed to find our way every day to the dining room for the 6:30 dinner seating - otherwise we all pretty much went whichever way we wanted.

This was my first cruise - and my husband Dan was very supportive of my having custom outfits made up for formal nights, and buying whole bunch of new clothes for both of us. This is a picture of us from in the Dining room on Formal Night.

The page in all white was done to answer a Hodge Podge Challenge at Creative Victorian, and the page with Dan and I is going in the book next to it!

Netta is getting me to start working on pages with only one picture on them...something I'm not used to doing - and i guess can work better than I thought.

Siblings Through the Years

Siblings Through the Years
Gina - Sissy - Boo
The names we all went by as we grew up - and yes I'm in there - and no I'm not a twin! I captured almost all the pictures I could get from my mom's album and scanned them in for this.
This page was done to answer a Color Challenge (use Blue and Green) at Creative Victorian Designs' Forum, using one of her older kits called Inherit Blessings.

I figured it out - so everyone gets a freebie!

After spending 2 days trying to figure out how to make this blog work, and getting a layout I liked, I'm ready to give something to my visitors ...

This is a kit I made to answer the September Design Challenge at Creative Victorian Design's new forum.
Right now it has no name - do any of you have any ideas?
Click on the preview for more detail - I couldn't get the preview as clear as i had wanted...but the larger one is just great!

If you Download, leave some constructive feedback, maybe an idea for a kit name, and maybe even some love in the comments!!
Here are the links - the kit is broken into 2 parts, for ease of downloading.
*** Links Deactivated ***
Share the link, please, not the file! And give credit where credit is due if you use this kit!!

Slide Show of Challenge Pages

this is a Growing Slideshow of some of my recent work.
These pages were done to answer Challenges at DesignsByJ3 and CreativeVictorian (links in the sidebar.)

Parent's 50th Anniversary Scrapbook

This is a Slideshow of a Hybrid Scrapbook I built for my parent's 50th Anniversary last year. The base pages were developed on my PC, and printed, and 'finished' with a wide variety of regular embellishments, including large amounts of Jolees flowers and Anita's Outline Stickers in gold. I built the front cover from scratch. A few of the pieces were purchased during the after Christmas sales - to be used months later when I finally got to building out the book.

I'm here...

I've fought doing a blog for a long time...
But I do believe the time has come to move forward!

Hi - I'm Gina.
I'm an almost 50 year old wife, mother of 2, and grandmother of 1. I've been happily married to an almost perfect man for just shy of 20 years, having gotten it right the second time around!
My daughters have moved out - the eldest married with a daughter of her own, and the youngest is working her way to a Certified Nurses Aide Certification through Job Corps right now.

My eldest daughter got me started on the scrapbooking thing...and I've become an electronic Scrap-kit junkie!! I do Hybrid Scrapbooking for myself - my family - my enjoyment.
I'm not on anyone's CT - I like what I like - and those choices will show up on the site somewhere, along with anything I make available for folks who want it to download.

So maybe take a look around - I know I'm not the best at this - but I do have fun with it!!
